JumpGen incorporates Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3 into Leading-Edge Designs

High-Performance Storage and Server Solutions

Intel Grantley AMC cardSan Diego, CA September 8, 2014: JumpGen is pleased to have products ready to incorporate the Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v3 platform (codenamed “Grantley-EP”).

JumpGen Systems’ line of CogniSwitch Network Appliances boasts the latest in CPU and switch silicon technology. Combining the functionality of a server and a switch into a single compact rackmount appliance, the CSW-2240 features the Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v3 platform paired with the next-gen Broadcom Trident II switch.

Benefiting from the higher packet processing rates of the Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3 and with over 40 high-speed ports, the CSW-2240 addresses more complex packet inspection and enables sophisticated SDN applications. Combined with Broadcom OF-DPA software, the CSW-2240 can be deployed as an OpenFlow switch.

JumpGen Systems has also designed platforms employing the high-performance features of the Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3 for a storage manufacturer who provides products for HPC, next generation cloud infrastructure, and server virtualization in enterprise IT that includes storage virtualization, network virtualization, and workload management. Requesting anonymity, this award-winning storage manufacturer requires the high performance of the Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3.

The Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3 offers more processing density, more cores, and higher frequency in same envelope as previous generation designs. Combining this processor with low-latency flash memory hardware to boost performance, JumpGen fabricated a family of custom, private-label controllers with all the hardware features needed for this storage company to maintain their market edge. These high-density designs utilize the Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3’s high port count for maximum I/O to the drives. Networking ports support either 40GbE/56Gbps Infiniband or 10GbE/16Gbps Fiber Channel. Also featuring 12G SAS and high-speed PCIe Gen3 interconnect between redundant controllers, these JumpGen designs offer maximum bandwidth and computing for next-gen storage infrastructure.

“Companies are looking to benefit from an application-specific design over limiting themselves with off-the-shelf components, count on JumpGen Systems and our compelling mix of high-performance, fast time to market, and affordability,” affirms President and CEO, Harry White. “Whether they have a processor in mind or need us to evaluate all the options, customers benefit from the custom approach JumpGen offers.”

JumpGen Systems’ application-specific design and manufacturing services are becoming recognized as a key enabler of best-in-class products for high-capacity storage appliances, Software Defined Network (SDN) servers, top-of-rack switches and load balancing for Application Delivery Controllers (ADC) as well as wire-speed packet processing and line-rate deep packet inspection.
